The Blackfin Resort Marathon, Florida Keys

Black Fin Resort Marina Marathon Florida
My family spent the weekend at the Blackfin Resort in Marathon in the middle Florida Keys, and we had a great time. We were very late with planning our trip, as we originally intended on going camping last week, so finding an available room at a decent rate in the Florida Keys was very difficult.

We almost booked another Marathon resort until we read some very unflattering reviews, and we eventually decided on trying out the Blackfin Resort and Marina. I knew it was an older hotel, so I was not expecting big luxury, but I was hoping for clean and comfortable.

Boomers Dania Beach Free Family Fun Day

Boomers Dania Beach Florida
Boomers Dania Beach
After more than four years in South Florida, my family finally made it to Boomers in Dania Beach. We had been very hesitant about going, as places like this usually breaks our family entertainment budget. However, it was spring break, and I was looking for a frugal family activity, and with Boomers coupons in hand we ventured into Boomers, Dania Beach on a Saturday afternoon during Spring Break.

The parking lot was full, and I immediately feared that the place would be too crowded. However, while there were lots of people at Boomers, the lines were relatively short, and I was positively surprised. When it comes to a place like Boomers, where every activity has a cost, I have found that establishing ground rules before we enter the place is a good idea. We went to Boomers to play mini golf, and our kids knew this.

I went to the ticket counter with all of my coupons. I had four free mini golf coupon, which we had received at a Free Halloween/Tri Rail event in Dania Beach last year. It turned out that I only had to use two coupons, as kids 5 and under play minigolf for free. (The regular price for mini golf is 27 tickets and 100 tickets cost $25, so we would probably had to pay about $20 for 3 people without the coupons).
